So I have heard many opinions about this law. And I decided to see what it really said. There is one paragraph that states, “For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency…where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person…” I am not an attorney just your regular guy and I take this to mean that if you are stopped for breaking a law, or possibly in an accident, maybe you were caught breaking and entering, or maybe you are suspect in a crime. They have the right to see if you are here illegally!
I am not against anyone coming into the U.S. legally. I just can not see why people are so wound up about a law that makes sense. If you are not here legally then you need to make it right! I have friends that have waited years to come to this country and are here legally! If the state of Arizona has passed this law which they have it is because our federal government is not doing anything!
Now it seems that the federal government is upset! Why? Could it be that they do not like being told or shown that they are not doing their job? Could it be that they really do not have a handle on the issue? Maybe they think its a problem that will just go away? There are also a few more states ready to pass laws like this. Get ready for all the hype! Oh by the way the feds love to spear head lawsuits so there is something that they really like!
