What a beautiful and great instrument it is! The guitar is probably one of the best friends you can ever have besides God!So when I learned to play, yeah I had a few teachers, read many books, learned by listening, learned by playing with others, and hold it as a part of my life.
Sometimes I try to conform and do things by the book, maintaining all the rules as they should be and in music you can bend some rules, some of the time! So this past weekend I was noodling around in my little studio and decided to play around with a few backing tracks. I came to one track that was not something that I would normally play. Its not my style, its not in my comfort zone!
As I was listening to the track it became apparent that I had to do this. I had to learn how to get into this groove on conquer it or at least attempt to make it work for me. I quickly learned that I had to listen outside of the box of what I had learned and try something different! I did and it took me a little while but there I was playing along. As I played the guitar it made me want to work harder at it. To make the piece more of me then allow others to hear it.
The guitar will inspire you, it will make you work harder, it will want and demand perfection, and at times will be there waiting to help you work out your issues! I told you just like God! So play on and make a joyful noise unto God!
Blessings,
