The Samick Guitar

So I got the Ray Benson model on the post before this one. Here is a run down of what I have done with it. The very first thing I do when I get a new guitar is change the strings and do a complete setup on it to my liking. I usually use D’Addarios nickel roundwounds 11-49, if I am string one of my jazz boxes it will be with D’Addarios chrome Flatwounds 11-50 and sometimes I will use Thomastik 12-56 or so….

After new strings and setup it was time to play this puppy! The sounds you can get from this guitar range from Country, Rock, Blues, Funk to a little Jazz! By the way I have had teles before that I have strung with flatwounds to play jazz through as well. For now I am leaving the roundwounds on there. It has a 5 way toggle and coil splitter allowing you to get a variety of sounds.

The maple neck is straight, and the frets show signs or wear, but there is still plenty meat left on them. In the short time that I have had this guitar it has become a keeper. And as I try to see where I can place it in some of my recordings I am trying to explore with its sounds. If you are looking for one of them, don’t hesitate buying one if you get the chance. For the money they are sure worth it!

God Bless,
