This morning I had the pleasure of printing out the ballot for a fellow co-worker that actually told me that he was not going to vote because he did not like any of the candidates! Now the party that he belongs to is not the party that I belong to. I still took the time to talk to him and advised him that it did not matter to me what party he belonged to, but what I reminded him of was that voting is a privilege that is given to us.
He then gave me an excuse that he was not familiar enough with all the candidates or what proposals were on the ballot. I asked him one solid question. Do you care about how your children will be affected by this election or any of the future elections? He quickly asked me to print him a sample ballot so he could take a look and read it. And he told me that he would take the time to vote.
No matter what party you belong to you have to make a decision and use the power of voting. Ever since I was allowed to vote I take it seriously and I try to vote for what I feel will be the best way. I do not care what party you belong to, I do not care what your thoughts are on any issues, I do care that you take the time to vote.
God Bless,
